The Edson Queiroz Group announces that the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE), in a trial session held on Wednesday (18), unanimously approved the acquisition of all shares of Liquigás by the acquiring group composed of Nacional Gás, Itaúsa, and Copagaz, through the signing of a Merger Control Agreement (ACC), in a negotiation that amounted to nearly R$ 4 billion.
With the acquisition finalized, Nacional Gás, an energy company of the Edson Queiroz Group, will consolidate its prominent position in the Brazilian market for Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) distribution, significantly expanding its presence in the residential segment.
“The acquisition of Liquigás represents another major advancement for the Edson Queiroz Group, which has been focusing its efforts, especially in the last five years, on expanding sectors in which it already operates and diversifying its portfolio. Increasing our reach in the LPG business aligns strongly with the strategies outlined in our planning for the coming years. We have high expectations for this new phase of our company and, undoubtedly, it will be an additional ingredient for our 70th-anniversary celebrations,” reports Abelardo Rocha, President of the Edson Queiroz Group.
