Compared to the previous year, the Group recorded growth of 12% in gross revenue and 24% in EBITDA
The Edson Queiroz Group (GEQ), one of the largest multi-sector groups in the Brazilian market, achieved gross revenue of R$13.5 billion in 2022. The group, which operates in the energy segment through Nacional Gás, food and beverages with Minalba Brasil, white goods with Esmaltec and communications with Sistema Verdes Mares, recorded growth of 12% compared to the previous year. The company’s EBITDA reached R$1 billion, an increase of 24% on the previous year.
“The Edson Queiroz Group (GEQ) recorded strong growth on an already robust base. All of the group’s companies performed well operationally, as well as generating cash, confirming the company’s net debt status,” says Carlos Rotella, CEO of the Edson Queiroz Group (GEQ). “The Group’s results in 2022 reflect the improvement in operational efficiency linked to the market strategies that enabled us to achieve outstanding figures,” he adds.
In terms of business, the year was marked by the consolidation of Minalba Brasil’s operations. In recent years, the company has invested in its portfolio and the positioning of its brands, in strategic partnerships and in operational efficiency, which have consolidated its leadership in the Brazilian mineral water segment.
At Esmaltec, despite the fact that the white goods market was going through an unfavorable period due to the loss of consumer purchasing power, the company was able to quickly adapt its product line to this audience, thus managing to close a year of good results.
SVM boosted the quality of its content in 2022 and launched an integrated news multiplatform on radio, TV and the internet. Sistema Verdes Mares entered 2023 as the leader of the Ceará market in TV, entertainment radio, news radio and leading the news portal market in the Northeast.
Despite all the inflationary pressure that fell on the supply chain throughout the year, Nacional Gás turned its efforts to maximizing operational resources, always targeting the end consumer, given the importance and essentiality of its product.
New positioning and plans for the coming years
In 2023, GEQ intends to invest in expansion, processes and modernization of its business, seeking to evolve and gain more market share in its segments. In addition, the company is looking to expand its national presence through its new brand positioning, portfolio expansion and investments in innovation.
