Nacional Gás will now own 18% of the volume of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) sold by Liquigás.
Starting this Thursday (24), Nacional Gás Distribuidora, an energy company within the Edson Queiroz group, will take over the management of new branches previously owned by Liquigás. This action comes after Petrobras finalized the sale process of its entire stake in Liquigás to the acquiring group, composed of Itaúsa, Copagaz, and Nacional Gás, as approved by Cade on November 18. The acquisition value of Liquigás paid by the consortium of companies to Petrobras was approximately R$ 4 billion.
With the completion of this acquisition, Nacional Gás strengthens its prominent position in the Brazilian market for LPG distribution, significantly expanding its presence in the household segment. By taking over the branches in Betim (MG), Macaé (RJ), and Campo Grande (MS) from Liquigás, the company consolidates its operations in the South and Southeast regions of the country.
Additionally, as part of the acquisition process, the transfer of branches and warehouses from Copagaz to Nacional Gás is also planned. After the completion of the entire process, the company will own assets equivalent to 18% of the volume of LPG sold by Liquigás.
Nacional Gás is one of the four largest LPG distributors in the country, with 100% Brazilian capital. It is responsible for supplying LPG to approximately 7.5 million households monthly and over 15,000 businesses through a supply network that works in gas storage, filling, and distribution in a flexible manner, tailored to the needs of small, medium, and large customers.
With this operation, the Edson Queiroz Group concludes one of the largest deals in its history and continues its mission to be present in people’s lives, delivering convenience, quality products, and well-being through sustainable businesses, committed to the present and future generations.
