The platform was launched at an online event for the company’s employees, which celebrates 70 years in 2021.
The Edson Queiroz Group (GEQ) launched the GEQ Academy last Friday (18), a educational platform aimed at providing development opportunities for its over 10,200 employees across Brazil. The unveiling of the new project took place in Fortaleza, headquarters of the Group’s Holding, in an online event for employees with a presentation by the President of the Edson Queiroz Group, Abelardo Rocha.
The purpose of the GEQ Academy is to invest in human capital development, stimulating creativity and innovation, based on the company’s values and culture. “More than offering training, the GEQ Academy aims to create a condition of open and available learning and knowledge for all levels of the company. We will seek to promote self-development among employees so that they can take ownership of their growth,” explained Abelardo during the program presentation.
The platform aims to create an organization oriented towards high performance and excellence in results. “‘We learn, share, and grow’ is a motto that is part of our values, and the GEQ Academy reinforces this culture of high performance that we so desire,” he emphasizes.
In addition to remarks by GEQ President Abelardo Rocha, the event featured a speech by Otameiry Furtado, Human Resources Director of GEQ, a lecture by Sérgio Rial, President of Banco Santander in Brazil, and a presentation by Raíssa Câmara, anchor of the Bom Dia Ceará news program on TV Verdes Mares, a broadcaster part of the Sistema Verdes Mares de Comunicação.
The GEQ Academy has four pillars that reflect the platform’s purpose: disseminate organizational culture, contribute to performance and results, create opportunities to expand knowledge and learning experiences, and serve as the foundation for development plans.
“We want to emphasize the importance of continuous learning, of never stopping. Continuous learning makes us grow, makes us better people, and the GEQ Academy is born with this DNA,” explains Otameiry Furtado, Human Resources Director of the Edson Queiroz Group.
