COVID-19 – Nacional Gás installs kitchen infrastructure and will donate 1 ton of gas per month to the Field Hospital of the Municipality of Fortaleza

COVID-19 – Nacional Gás instala infraestrutura da cozinha e doará 1 tonelada de gás por mês para o Hospital de Campanha da Prefeitura de Fortaleza

Nacional Gás, a liquefied petroleum gas distribution company of the Edson Queiroz Group, donated one ton of gas to the Field Hospital of the Municipality of Fortaleza. The donation will be made monthly to the unit while it is in operation. The company also carried out all the duct installation for the kitchen free of charge. The entire process was completed in the record time of one day.

“We understand that only unity will help us get through this time. That’s why we’re working and finding ways to contribute to this fight. All companies in the Edson Queiroz Group are focused on this goal: to help combat and minimize the impacts of the coronavirus,” said Celso Rocha, superintendent director of Nacional Gás.

Field Hospital

The kitchen built at the Field Hospital of the Municipality of Fortaleza has the capacity to serve almost 900 people, with an average of 3,000 meals per day. The entire gas piping infrastructure, with 70 meters, was donated by Nacional Gás.

The new equipment built by the Municipality aims to expand the care for Covid-19 cases in Fortaleza. The facility has 204 new beds and was built at the Presidente Vargas Stadium.

Social Gas Voucher

In May, the “Social Gas Voucher” exchange will also begin, an initiative promoted in partnership with the State Government, to deliver 246,000 gas cylinders to needy families in Ceará. People selected by the Government will receive and have the right to exchange their empty 13 kg cylinder for a full one. It is worth noting that the cylinders are being provided to the State Government at cost price, that is, without profit for the company.
